Application of the equipment

            Mostly, the equipment is used to purify water from iron (Fe2+), and additional equipment reduces manganese and hydrogen sulfide.

- Operating principle

            The filtering material “Manganese greensand” sand is located in the filtration tank (column) of the equipment. This specific sand is coated with manganese dioxide, and is able to reduce hydrogen sulfide, oxidize and filter iron and manganese in water.

Therefore, the consumer is provided with purified water. When the capacity of the filtering material “Manganese greensand” is worn out, it must be rinsed and renewed by regenerating with a potassium permanganate solution. With the help of the control mechanism, the device provides this rinsing and regeneration in a fully automatic mode. For the regeneration of the equipment, reagent Potassium permanganate (blue grains) is required. The reagent should be topped up relatively infrequently, approximately once every two to four months, depending on water consumption.

            The equipment is recommended to be used especially in cases where there is a higher number of bacteria in the water, as during the regeneration process, potassium permanganate also provides partial disinfection of the equipment and the filtering environment.

Important! Rinsing wastewater must not be discharged into biological sewage systems!

  • The performance of the equipment is affected by the quality of the water, so it must be taken into account, that the worse the water quality, the slower the purification rate.
  • The frequency of rinsing is calculated for each customer individually, which depends on the quality of the water to be cleaned (content of iron, manganese, etc) and the selected equipment model.
  • The total amount of wastewater per regeneration also depends on water pressure, pipe diameters, etc.
  • The duration of rinsing depends on the adjustments that are set for each object individually based on water quality.


Operation

  • It is necessary to independently and regularly monitor the replenishment of the reagent “Potassium permanganate”. The frequency of replenishment depends on the frequency of regenerations. In standard situations, the reagent is added approximately once in 3 months, adding approximately 2-3 kg.
  • It is recommended to perform equipment maintenance once a year.
  • Periodically, every 3-10 years, it will be necessary to change the filling of the equipment. The frequency of change depends on the quality of the water to be treated, the flushing efficiency of the equipment and the water consumed.
